Cat Montreal 1.jpg

Cat has been immersed in textiles all her life.  Her father was in the menswear industry and always had fabric samples around.   Her mother, a master seamstress, taught her to sew at an early age.  She started making dolls as a child with twigs and leaves found in the woods behind her West Virginia home.

Fast forward to 2009 and we come to the International Quilt Festival and the In Celebration of the Doll exhibit.  Absolutely enchanted, she turned her fabric manipulation skills to cloth dollmaking.

An award-winning artist, Cat has been published in Art Doll Quarterly and International Doll Artist magazines.  Cat loves to create her fanciful dolls using various mediums often mixing themes and materials.  A historical costumer at heart, her intricately embellished creations often reflect her expertise in creating designs from the medieval and renaissance periods.

A member of the Texas Association of Original Dell Artists and the Material Girls Cloth Doll Club of Houston.  Cat lives in Houston with her adoring husband of 22 years.
