Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I now reside in Canada. My artistic abilities, are a direct result of a strong heritage of creativity. Surrounded by talented grandparents and parents who were master tailors, quilt makers, and music teachers, who handed down a myriad of learning techniques to bring forth a creative and artistic presentation. My endeavors to bring fabric from its most simple form to a delicate creation of distinction are a constant driving force.
Each distinctive figurative sculpture has their own unique quality, made with the utmost care and imaginative focus. My scope widens as I continue to build my creative process with a mystical chairs series all the way to wearable art.
Other hobbies I enjoy that I’ve equally mastered are painting of watercolors, (Gouache Medium) photography, crocheting, quilting and reading.
I has been involved with the figurative sculpture making for the last 10 years while running a very successful business on a full time basis. I now conduct “Creative Costuming” workshops throughout North America.
As a certified Feng Shi consultant, Feng Shui Institute of America (FSIA) helps me to achieve the balance in all my work; a graduate of Fine Arts/Graphics from the University of South Alabama, a graduate of Dale Carnegie’s Sales and Marketing Programs, I continually strive to be tenacious in broadening her knowledge with the latest techniques of figurative sculpting and learning from the masters.
My work has been featured in Soft Dolls and Animal, Contemporary Doll Collector, Doll United (as featured Artist), Doll Crafter & Costuming, DOLLS Magazine (Nominated for the Doll of Excellence Award 2006) as well as Art Doll Quarterly. My latest endeavor has been through Pattie Maderis Culea in her third and latest book; Creative Cloth Doll Couture, which one of my figurative sculptures is featured in the fairy section. My fine art sculptures have received numerous awards through the Canadian Doll Artist Association and commended by leading Doll Masters.
Each figurative sculpture is as important as the next. Each with their own souls and personalities, I have captured the enlightenment and spirit of true fine arts in the figurative sculpture medium. Many figurative pieces adorn homes and continue to be appreciated by all those who view them.
